services> DIGITAL MAPPING
Geometric Computer Services / GCS, INC. uses today's computer power and versatility, to easily solve even the most complex engineering problems. Surface plotting, contour mapping, profile and cross-section plotting, and cut and fill calculations are made quickly, accurately, and, most importantly, economically. Producing a high-quality computerized map base requires the right combination of project planning, technical experience, sophisticated mapping instruments, computer hardware and software, and data capture techniques. At Geometric Computer Services, the approach to digital mapping differs from most competing photogrammetric firms. Rather than adapting existing mapping techniques to the computer, the Company actively seeks new technologies and improved means of capturing geographic information in both vector and raster format. This increases database accuracy and enhances the user's ability to access and manipulate information and achieve greater cost efficiencies.
Whether you need a digital land base map, topographic map, or volumetric survey, Geometric Computer Services implements strict quality control measures at each step of the process from acquiring the aerial photography and the field control survey through plotting the final map product. To achieve a solution, information from aerial photography, surveyor field notes, existing maps and/or any other data source can be used. Geometric Computer Service's system offers you a fast and accurate means of preparing a rough or finished product at a fraction of the cost of conventional methods. To do so, our digitizing service employs the use of two ALTEK AC T46-2 BL digitizing tablets and our IMA/Zeiss P-1 Analytical stereoplotter. Data can be collected or converted into any one of several systems, and the means for collecting the geographic data is provided. The AMSA/MAP-PRO system, designed and marketed by Geometric Computer Services, combines many functions into a single, easy-to-use package designed to capture, edit, display, annotate, store, update and change data as required. The results may be displayed on a graphic terminal, as well as a hardcopy plot on a pen plotter. |
